Also how would an Egyptian child answer the register? Eg would s/he say yes or present or what?

Thanks for great answers.

Would I say the words as they are spelt or should I put extra emphasis on certain sections?

well in the language of copts i don't know....but if u mean the egyptian arabic....this is my answer:
and we say sabah alkhair (صباح الخير)= good morning
massah alkhair (مساء الخير)=good after noon and good evening
yes = na'am
no = la'a
and about that register question.....an egyptian child would say AFANDIM (yes sir)it's the most commonly used and it is basicly turkish by the way....it's also used in the military
also s/he can say NA'AM (yes)...
there you go

Good morning - Sabah alkheer response sabah hanur
Good Afternoon - Masah alkheer

Don't know about the child question.

EDIT: See if you can find a website that will let you hear the pronounciation, it will be hard to explain how you pronounce "kh" (it's sort of like clearing your throat).
