I have a 7-year-old golden and I just adore this breed! I love dogs in general, but I've found goldens to be the sweetest, kindest, most gentle dogs. They seem to be great with kids too. I love talking to other golden fans! :)

Hi yes they are the sweetest dog around as far as I'm concerned. That's why I bred and raised them for over 20 years. Nothing made me happier than to place one of my pups into a good and loving home. I currently have 2 beauitful males with me here at home and hope to get another this year.
I truely miss breeding these wonderful dogs but I am happy I have the 2 and maybe to I have another here with me soon.
Golden people are the very best!

Mine passed away some time ago but judging from all the responses, mine must have been an exception. Dont get me wrong, he was a great dog but gave me a lot of headaches. At first he would try to dig under fences so he could get out of the yard. As he got older, he actually figured out how to scale a 7 foot fence whenever he wanted to. This resulted in him getting picked up by animal control several times and of course I had to pay the fines and was warned that 1 more time and he would be taken away. I would take him hiking with me. The dog would dissapear for a couple of hours and mysteriously show up at the car, most of the time. I say most of the time because once he got sprayed by a skunk and I made the poor thing follow the car to town so I could bathe him in tomato juice to kill the stink. In the end I really loved that dog.

I grew up with a golden retriever. He was the best dog in the world! My sister just got a golden puppy. I love that bread.

They are beautiful dogs... I knew one named Brewster he was a sweetie pie! it was so sad tho he got killed in an accident, I felt like crap even though he wasnt even my dog, he was quite big for a golden and had that so silky soft pale golden fur, he was just gorgeous and friendly!! Hyper and exuhuberant great companion for kids which was exactly what he was...

Agreed, I don't have one myself though they are one of the nicest - most pleasant - fun dogs to be around! Great with children and very good off the leash.

ye me to i love em. i my dog was a golden it was when i was young though. it was always licking me:) then one day it died from a sand fly i think :( i was really upset but i got a new one and called it sammy

We had a female and she was awesome.
We have a male he's about 3 and he acts retarded. He's so hyper. He's fixed. We also have a boxer bulldog.
