Gel that isnt shiny?

Are there any gels that dont make the hair look shiney? Also whats the difference between gel and wax. I want my hair to remain spikey but not shiney and wet looking, whats the best product to use, specific brands would be nice.

if u want spikey as spikey messy(with no annoying shine)..use fibre putty.

wax makes your hair shiny and manageable but unlike gel its not wet shiny and doesnt make your hair hard as stone. hair gel has more strong hold

What you need is a texturizing pomade (which is basically a wax). Texturizing pomades tend to give hair a matte look, kind of like the texture of surf hair. Waxes also have more hold, and less alcohol, which is drying. You can also use a lot less. Some good products would be:

Any Bed Head product in a pot- such as "Mastermind" or "Manipulator."

Bumble and Bumble "Surf Spray"

Garnier Fructis "Surf Hair" pomade

Also, make sure that you use a clarifying shampoo like Garnier Fructis pretty often if you are applying stylers every day. This will keep your hair from looking dull.

Wax is more sticky....

And just wet your hair first, then put the gel in. That will make the gel hard.

No such thing. Gel is a water or alcohol base. You need a lotion base like putty. Try the Fudge line at your salon!

wa will make it to shiny and wont stay up the way you want iut (spiked) why dont you like the shine the gel gives you?well n-e-wayz try hairspray its less shiny or go to a beauty supply store and ask theyll know.

All gel looks wet and shinny sorry, and about wax sorry never tried it.
