RE: the recall of IAMS

The IAMS was my (now) 6 month old puppy's food. When he was 3 months old he ate this food. Should I get him checked out? Thanks!

He would have been affected long ago. I think you're safe.

Yes, call you vet, and have your pup brought in for a checkup.

I fear that the food problem has been in existence for a longtime....and the general public is only being made aware of it, because of the amount of outcry....(In the GSD world, I have been hearing problems with Kidney failure in many dogs for the last 7 months!)

Your pup will probably check out ok...but it is good to know. Dogs will seldom show any noticeable health problems until it is quite bad.

Good Luck!

I think you should defenitely have him checked out. Maybe your vet can do some bloodwork to ensure (or catch) your dog has a clean bill of health. Especially in a puppy so young you are going to want to ensure no Kidney damage was done.

No, he should be fine. The recall was done on recently made/shelved food. If you're worried, call your vet and see what they say.

the problem is only since Friday and it,s only the wet food that was poisoned.if he or she is not looking normal like a heart beat, or breathing is not normal then get it cheacked out. our cat eats at other peoples places and we had it cheack out and now we know he has a heart problem so maybe you should get a cheak up for the cat so he,s heathy.
