Religion is a serious subject for many people. People get stuck in a serious mind-set. Polls & Surveys doesn't seem so serious... makes for more joking and fun.

Because people can dish it out but they can't take it.
I've seen a few good jokes here.
Sometimes it's hard to tell when someone is joking or serious or being mean.

well .since you must know,
some people are just like that
when i was in elementary school. third grade.they tried to Make me go play out in the playground at recess,recess is for others,wimpier types. not ME. i refused and eventually quit school because they continued to try to force me to PLAY?? I do not PLAY. OK?

Because people are constantly trying to prove something that they know they cannot. Once the explanations or the fear factor does not work the next step is anger.

Because the people in R&S are normally talking about, or defending something that is extremly important to them and in their life. Alot of them here are not in it for the humor.
