You sound like a neglectful owner. You should consider bringing your dog to the ASPCA for surrender.

No dog should be on a diet that you describe...nor should they have parasites and matting.

Do 'us' all a favour, and give up your dog.

OMG! I would just let the dog loose in a field and get a new one.

Or if you are dead set on keeping it... stop feeding it eggs, leave a bowl of dog food. it will get ungry enough to eat it.

Cut the knots out. Or take it to a groomer. They can shave it completely. It will look funny for a while, but then you can brush it regularly while the hair is growing back.

parisites can be handled with medication from the vet, or petsmart. also, the washing from the groomer will help..

lastly, you are a scumbag, owning a pet takes work and responsibility. That dog deserves a much better owner. dogs are happiest when they make their owners happy, you have to train it to eat what you want, go where you want, and do what you say. If you do not train it then you guys will not have a great relationship.

eating only milk and eggs is not particularly healthy for him, every once and a wile is fine but every day is too much. at a year old he should definitely be eating normal dog food. my dog is also very pick but he like science diet a lot. it will take a wile for your dog to get used to eating dog food you should change his food gradually so he can get used to the taste and so it does not make him sick because he is not used to it. stat by mixing a little dog food with eggs and mix a bit more every day in till that is all he is eating.

as for his fur you can buy special brushes to get the mats out you can do this or get a groomer to do it but you may just have to cut them out, and let his fur grow back.

you should see you vet about the parasites

Lordy, lordy, some of the people who own animals....
NO, it's not good for your dog to live off of eggs and milk. If he wants to be picky..fine...let him be. He will eat when he gets hungry enough. It should be a DOG food.
Dog food is made for dogs, duh. It gives them the nutrients they need. Including nutrients for a healthy coat!!
That's also why they make DOG brushes.
Sounds like you'll have to cut his hair. It'd be much cheaper than to have a shop comb out the mats..and you can start fresh and groom your dog daily! Maybe even a few times a day!
Groom and feed your dog properly and you shouldn't have problems. See your vet(does he even have one?) and get the meds for your dog to get rid of the bugs. Let him go hungry until he realizes it's what's in the dish or nothing.
Please take care of your dog. It sounds like he's in bad shape!!
All of this will give you a fresh start dearie, take it before it's too late.

Disgusting. Just like everyoe else said, that is horrifying to hear. At least you realize there is a problem. Take your dog to the vet ASAP and have them cut his hair and educate you on owning a dog and the proper care he needs. Eggs don't give him all the nutritions he needs and milk gives dogs diarrhea. He will eat when he gets hungry you just can't give into him and give him some eggs and milk.

I have a lhasa apso too, and I'm sad to hear about the conditions you have your dog in. You really shouldn't own a dog if your not gonna take care of it. Their coat needs a lot of care. And no dog will go hungry if you put food in front of them. Start feeding it DOG FOOD. Or maybe you should give it up and give it to someone who will give it the care it needs.

Wow. I have a Lahsa Apso too and eggs is not good for them! Neither is frequent milk. It's not good for their digestion or poo. You need to change the dogs diet and give him dog food. He can get heart, artery or digestive problems that can get pricey if you care about your pet and are willing to pay for his medical care.

As for his coat, you must do occasional hair cuts to keep their hair healthy. We keep our dog's hair kind of short. If you like it long, you have to brush it all the time to keep it from matting up. The occasional hair cuts really help, though.

As for the parasites (I hope you mean fleas) take him to the vet and they will give you flea pills to give to the dog that really work. My pit sleeps outside and he never has had fleas due to the meds. It sounds like you really need a vet visit overall.

Please change the dogs diet!!

Dogs cannot live on a diet of eggs, they need dog food for all the correct vitamins and minerals. It doesn't matter if they do like eggs and milk, what they like can kill them. If the dog gets finicky and won't eat, they just leave the food out for him until he figures out that's all he's getting. Get your dog to a groomer to get the mats out. Long haired dogs need to be brushed and groomed regularly. Mats hurt, they get big and start pulling the skin. Dogs need to be bathed, defleaed, groomed, and fed dog food.

stop feeding him eggs. if you don't stop you will end up buying soft dog food and that stuff is expensive. mix in a little at a time of hard dog food or some soft. eventually mix in the food more and more so he will get use too the dog food
