sure, as long as it is still "fresh". To test, put some on a spoon and add a few drops of vinegar. If it bubbles and fizzes, its fine. If not, its too old and will not work in your cookies.

Your cookies will taste like refrigerator!lol I mean if you just put the box in there ten miuntes before you make your cookies, go ahead. But if you've had the box for a while even if you smell the box and it doesn't stink it's because baking soda absorbs odors so you won't really be able to tell if it's good to use. Run to the store and get a fresh box :)

No, the baking soda that is for the fridge is that only for absorbing odors and moisture...I wanted to do the same thing last time I was baking cookies and read the package.

I do that all the time. I don't think I've ever had a separate box of baking soda just for baking. And I've never noticed a funny smell or taste. Go for it! Make the cookies!

Its the same thing. Sometime it might even have a recipe on the back of arm and hammer baking soda. of course arm and hammer does sell the kind that is specifically for the fridge so just check the box

You could, but depending on how long the baking soda has been in the fridge, it could have picked up some pungent odors that could effect the taste of your cookies. Personally, I would not use it, but it is entirely up to you.

I've done it when I haven't had a box in my baking goods cabinet. No, it didn't have any weird taste or funky smells. Of course, everything in my refrigerator is properly covered or wrapped, so it's not like I have half an onion sitting out in the open right next to the box. If that were the case, I might've thought twice about it.

it would probably work. but it would probably give the cookies a funky taste cuz baking soda absorbs the odors from food.

I wouldn't unless desperate....It has absorbs some odors from the fridge, but may not be too recognizable in the flavor of the cookie.
I'd save it to put out a fire instead!
