Check and see if you can get to a dental school. It is about a third of what it costs in private practice. The school I went to had contracts that allowed you to pay over time, with just a down payment. Tell your parents about the child that had an abcessed tooth that worked its way to the brain and killed the child. This happened a couple of months ago in Pennsylvania. It can also drain into the submandibular space and cause Ludwigs Angina, basically that is when the infection builds up around the airway and closes it off, also a life-threatening condition. I am getting a little carried away, a lot of the time it is not life-threatening. But there is a possibility of that and your parents should take it very seriously.

First off, the dentist wont touch the tooth until the abscess is gone. He will give you a rx for antibiotics to take till the abscess is subsided then will figure out what to do to the tooth. you say you don't have the money to see a dentist. I would check into seeing if where you live has a clinic you can go to.

This is very very serious. An absessed tooth can spread the infection to surrounding areas. It is neglect if your parents dont take you to see a dentist and you need medical attention. If you insist to them that something is wrong and they refuse to take you in, talk to a teacher at school. Your parents might get into trouble but this is a very serious matter and should not be ignored. Good luck with that.

go on the Internet and research. There are places in all areas that offer free or reduced fee treatment to low income families that can't other wise afford dental procedure es. But you have to go! I didn't and waited years and it ended up costing me $30,000.00 just to fix them ( that doesn't include braces) the longer you wait the worse it will get
