AKC has absolutely nothing ot do with CKC (unless it is the Canadian Kennel Club) unless your dog came from an AKC registered litter and an individual registration app was filled out and sent in and "papers" sent back to the owner your dog doesn't have a registration number.
There is no way for you to register your dog with AKC unless the breeder registered the litter and gave you an individual registration app. to send in. If your dogs father was indeed AKC registered the breeder would have that info.

When you got the dog you should have received
AKC papers with both parents listed on it. Without
that, you will most likely not find the father and you
will not be able to register your dog.

When breeders have pups for sale, they are already registered with the American Kennel Club.
You should have received an AKC paper
(If both parents are AKC registered)
at the time of purchase. With that paper, you choose
a name for your dog, fill out the new owners info and
mail it to the American Kennel Club. Then, you receive
an official AKC paper for the dog.

no, AKC would not record this information. If the father is registered under a different name then you'll need to go back to the father's mother or father. You might call AKC first though and see what it takes to get a dog registered if you don't have the paperwork from the breeder.

For one dearie..your dogs breeder should be reported. You're not supposed to advertise AKC registered if they're not. Your breeder should already have the papers for you so you can see that both parents ARE AKC registered.
The papers your breeder gives insures fast registration.
You should definetly get ahold of the AKC. If "daddy" is registered...they should be able to find it.
Good luck hun!

Do you have microchip or tattoo for the CKC registered dog? It might come up in the listing, ( the AKC number that is ) when you do a search thru their Canada Recovery

What kind of dog? Do you know the sire's registered name? Who is the breeder you got your dog from?

As to the answer just above mine.....Individual pups are not usually registered by the breeder. The breeder typically registers the LITTER, and the new owners register the individual pups.

Yes you should be able to as long as the dual registerd it. If they microchipped the dogs you should be able to get it through HomeAgain or Avid microchiping services as well.
