Listen, I am not being judgmental, but It does not make sense... It never fails, that when someone asks a legitimate question , when reading the answers, you have to weed out all of the "there is no God" answers. If you don’t believe, this would seem to be the wrong section to be hanging around.... Isn’t it one of the primary arguments by atheists, that believers are always judging them or trying to convert them? So why do atheists find a need to inject on topics they don’t believe in?

I don't understand that either. They just want to come in and spew their venom.

As a Christian, of course I would like everyone to believe in God. However, in a public forum like this, I know it would not do any good for me to tell atheists "my side" of the story.

I feel that atheists have a right to their opinion. My own brother does not believe. However he does not use any and every excuse to tell Christians who are talking that there is no God. Besides being sick, that is just plain rude.

I know what I believe in and am secure in it. I don't feel it necessary to be defensive and rude whenever someone else has another opinion.

Many atheists seem threatened by Christians.

We had a pact a few weeks ago that whenever anybody asked this question, we would have a drink.

Unfortunately it led to serious alcohol toxicity among the atheists, and we had to stop .

My point is that as a newbie to the insanity of R&S, you should really research all the many excellent answers that have been given to this question in the past before asking it yet again. It is tiresome.

We are INTERESTED in religion and spirituality and why people have these archaic beliefs. We see our role as educators. If you just want to talk to other believers, then there are christian and muslim chat rooms. This is an open forum, and all points of view are welcome.

It is also apparent that there are a lot more of us out here then you have been led to believe, so you better get used to having your delusions challenged. If you have good reasons and strong faith, then what is your worry??

Because, so many 'atheists' actually know/have studied more and want to share. It's very frustrating when you try to give a logical answer and all a person sees is 'there is no God'.
Assuming you know how to read, act on it. >:-(

Some of them are jjust here to jeer. Whether they realize it or not, they are only fulfilling prophecy.
Some of them think that they are truly "helping" the religious to see their pov. Some of them have actually strengthened my faith by their questions and answers.
A few of them...precious souls they are...are attracted by the LIGHT. As long as there is the tiniest chance that we might reach even ONE of them, we need to be patient with ALL....that's why it is especially important in a forum like this one to try to remember WHO we belong to....and WHO we represent.

(Sadly, I haven't always kept to this, either. I let them get to me, too. I guess we just have to grit our teeth and try harder...)

I understand this place to be a discussion about religion and spirituality. Belief in these ideas are not mandatory.

For real discussion you need both sides

In other words, this is a discussion area, not a praise area

I do appreciate the drink

Personally, I avoid answering questions that aren't aimed at me and my kind. But, sometimes the "legitimate question" is just begging for a response, and in that case, I oblige.

Some have valid and insightful input, and others have nothing better to do than bug people. Hey, it's the internet.

To stop a problem you go to where it starts. Do you think only people of royality should be in the Royality section?

Because we don't get you people. A lot of what you believe in makes no sence to us so were morbidly curious as to what makes religion tick.

I don't have to believe in god/s to be interested in other people's religious beliefs. Their beliefs have influence over my world.
