2 months, you have plenty of time.

Simply do whatever you expect them to do in class, you gave the example of push ups. Push yourself to the max 3-5 X a week and in 2 months there will be a great difference between where you are now and will be.
I would also throw in a good cardio routine, if you are winded it doesn't matter how strong you are, you wont be able to perform.

I think concentration curl, shoulder press, push ups, trunk twist, and single leg hopping is the most effective.
Concentration curl & shoulder press-Strengthens your punch(and increases speed).
Trunk twist-Helps you to evade.
Single leg hopping-Increases your speed in the foot work.
You should also do wrestler's bridge and reverse wrestler's bridge to avoid knock outs by stregthening your neck.

PS: Jogging and jump roping is very important for your stamina. Most beginners tends to waste all of their energy in the first round of their match.
If you don't know how to do those work outs, just type it in google and click on images. Or you can use answers.com

Start some calistentics on a daily basis, keep fit. I would not lift weights or anything just do some pushups and keep practicing, thats important to Sensei.

Every time you sit down to watch TV or play video games say to yourself "I should be working out instead"

Turn on the radio, and get to it.

(Turn any time you would be looking at a "screen" into "Work Out Time)
