I asked my almost 5 year old to tell me a story.....I'll type as she talks....
I got a cat. The coolest cat. My cat is really funny. The cat can do back flips. (now she's giggling) And it can do rolls. (more giggling) It can do flips in the air. It can roll under blankets. (more giggling) It can do stuff SOOO funny! It can jump in the bathtub. I love my cat. It can open windows. (this is news to me lol) (more giggling) My cat can open jars.(more giggling) I'm gonna go tell my sister. (she's getting her sister) (she's making the 9 year old read this, she doesn't seem too amused) One time it jumped on the computer and the dog saw it. That's it. I have to play now.

If this is for an assignment the best place for your answer is from the mouth of a 5yr old. They tend to tell some pretty tall tales and can be quite interesting. Start with any relatives or friends of family that have kids that age. If there's nothing there call your local daycare and see if you can spend some time observing... once the kids warm up to you I'm sure you'll get a great story. If that's not an option... see if you can do some observing in a kindergarten classroom at a local school. Or at the very least, talk to a kindergarten teacher after school.

Mine is just turning six so I'm used to this, it starts out usually with mommy mommy mommy then she starst out normal telling about something she saw or did and from there she adds pieces of books and movies and basically creates her own little world in the story. Also don't forget that they have no concept of time as far as minutes and hours go she thinks that 5 min is a couple of hours. If you need to study up on this try contacting one of your local daycare centers to volenteer for story time or even a kindergarten class at the elementary school. You tell them a story and then they tell you one.Always make sure to call and get permission first from the school principal or director of the daycare.

ok, first you need to be way overly excited....Then you need to start out with 'one time a long time ago'. Then right when you are at the most exciting part of the story, you have to start repeating the sentence over and over, cuz 5 year olds just get too excited when they tell stories!!! My daughter has me laughing everytime.

they exaggerate everything. definately. and they try to use big words, but mess them up all the time. they also think they know everything. use words like uh huh, in whinning voices alot. and they use 'and' alot. they also get extra excited, and start jumbling their words, when it gets to good parts of a story.
