I had knee surgery in Febuary 2007 for torn cartlaige and to clean it out. I do have ostoarthristis. As of today, March 22,2007 Iam in more pain to walk than I was before the Surgery. Iam in pt and my range is good, but I walk with pain everyday. The doctor tells me Iam to young for a replacement, Iam 50. Any advise?

Sorry to hear about your knee. I had an accident and I have had 12 knee surgeries. Total reconstructed knee surgery on my left knee. Had 11 knee surgeries on my right one to remove bone fragment and torn cartilage. I am 46 and they also tell me that I am too young for a knee replacement. My biggest problem is my knee cap is screwed up also. There is not much you can do with the pain except ice/heat or bengay. Maybe medication. I refused the medication. I see too many people hooked on them.
There is an injection routine you can request from your doctor and a lot of people have great results with it. You have to take them in sequences. I think its a total of 3.
Good luck and i hope you find relief from your pain..

I haven't had knee surgery, but know a lot of people who have. I would think by now you would be feeling better. Are you in need of a knee replacement? If you are you can do what my uncle did, told the doctor if you won't do it I'll find a doctor who will.... by the way he was told he was to old... only 90 years old at the time.

That actually happened to my grandma--I'm serious. She had to have a second surgery to replace her knee, but they noticed she had torn something and fixed that. Right now she's doing a lot better. You should get the opinion of a different doctor.
