lol, a Pontiac Sunfire GT ,good on gas mileage, and it is pretty fast too! My air filter intake has been upgraded though,,and the HP is upto around 190 now,and for the size of this car, alot of cars (even a Honda Civic suped up) hasn't been able to hang with me. I've had the car for 6 months now ... no problems, and I too drive to school/work/wherever else daily ... no problems!

120 miles to school and back?? wow that is far. Mostly, however, I would recommend japanese imports (honda, nissan, toyota) because they would probably be the most reliable and have the better gas mileage. I do not think they will have too many (if any) convertibles though.

Definitely look at the 1999-2002 range rovers, most of them have decent mileage and tons of features like navigation, air suspension, locking differentials, adjustable suspension, cruise control, etc. you won't find a more capable or luxurious car anywhere else for your budget. reliability is best on the 2000-02 models rather than 97-99s, which are said to be questionable.

I would purchase a Honda or a Toyota, both are very reliable, both get good mileage. Both also hold their value well.

I would watch the local newspaper for a really good deal on a chrysler sebring. Once you have found a car you like take it to a mechanic to check it out before you buy it.

I would use www.autotrader.com and if you insist on getting a convertible, definetly consider a chrysler sebring or a V6 powered ford mustang. You can customize your search on autotrader to fit your budget as well!

police auctions tons of cars usually or look in the paper, if you live near a college or university school year getting out and some of the students sell their cars cheap instead of paying to send them home. look aroung online car clasifieds for your area but have someone who knows cars to cheak it out.
