No, you should not be scared of anything. As long as you know that you serve a forgiving God who grants us grace and mercy every single day you have nothing to be afraid of. Yes, we ALL sin and fall short of the glory of God because we were born in sin. God/Jesus is the only perfect person. You have to be real careful when it comes to "Church Folks". A lot of people in the church sit back and wait for people like you, a babe in Christ to make a mistake or fall down so that they can judge and ridicule you but you be strong in the Lord. Remember that those people don't have a heaven to send you to nor do they have a hell to cast you down in. Let God be your judge. Allow Him to convict you when you are wrong and pick you up when you fall. It is hard being saved and set apart from worldly ways but that's when you have to pray daily without ceasing. Congratulations on your baptism. God said to seek the Kingdom first and you are definitely headed in the right direction. Just know that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. He didn't say that the weapon would not be formed because you will have many trials, tests, temptations and tribulations but He did say that they wouldn't prosper. One day at a time. See you heaven! God Bless You.

That's funny... EVERY person that we see in scripture "being saved" was IMMEDIATELY BAPTIZED. Someone is teaching you things differently than the New Testament pattern.
Acts 2:37 When the people heard this, their hearts were filled with shame. They said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”
38 Peter replied, “All of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then your sins will be forgiven. You will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children. It is also for all who are far away. It is for all whom the Lord our God will choose.”

Welcome home sister.
Your salvation has nothing to do with anyone watching you. It has everything to do with Jesus. All your sins have been washed away, so sin is a non-issue. Will you mess up? Sure. But that is what the first epistle of John is all about. Memorize it.
Remember what baptism is all about. You are dead (going into the grave...ie the water) and you are resurrected into new life (coming out of the water). So just look at those people and remember, you are brand new.
And really, if your church is a true Godly fellowship, then nobody is looking at you to mess up. If they are, you need a different fellowship. Feel free to write me for encouragement or direction in your new walk. See my links below for some great teaching.

Accepting Jesus does not mean you will not sin in the future. Don't stress out, even the apostle Paul admitted it was impossible not to sin and called himself a wretched and miserable man because he cannot stop sinning! Go read Romans 7:15 to 25.
If indeed you are saved, then you should understand that everyone including yourself falls short of perfection in adherence to biblical rules EVERY DAY and cannot save themselves through their own deeds. Yet God STILL loves you!
You cannot EARN God's love. It is GIFT freely given. So do not judge yourself and do not allow others to judge you. Only God can judge. Matt 7: 1-2.
Best of luck sweetie and remember Jesus said, “My yoke is light and my load is refreshing.” So from an emotional and spiritual standpoint, being a Christian should be easy. There is absolutely no need for anguish, inner torment, and self hatred. Once these start to set in, you are obviously not allowing yourself to experiencing the “refreshment” of Jesus’ unconditional love and are allowing your own and man’s own religious expectations to steal your joy.

What kind of church would be sitting back watching to see you mess up? How sad, they should be cheering you on. Everyone messes up some times, when we are saved we can go to the Father in prayer and repent and ask for forgiveness. God will forgive, and everyone in that church has messed up some time or other after being saved. I wish you the best.

These are your brothers and sisters-they are no better than you, they are there to lift you up and encourage you as you grow in your relationship with the Lord. Any who are waiting and ready to pounce on you at the first sign of weakness, are in direct violation of God's word, and should be more worried about their own spiritual condition. Now, you just remember that; and dont let the enemy of God sneak into your thoughts and try to ruin this glorious day for you! You are doing this for God! You are a witness for all the world to see, that Jesus saves! You have been released from the bondage of your sin, and set free through Jesus, and fear is no longer in control of you! You are not under any kind of bondage, you have the Holy SPirit of God, sent to guide you, call on Him, anytime and He is right there, even little worries like this one, He will counsel you through. He can use other people to teach you too, but give Him your undivided attention so He can teach you. The only way you will keep going in the right direction, growing and becoming closer to the lord, is to make time for Him; this will strengthen you, and your desire for sin becomes less and less, and your desire for the Lord's wonderful companionship becomes more and more. Congratulations on your baptism, and welcome to the family! Feel free to email me anytime; I am your sister in Christ Jesus, and we are all here to lift one another up! (not tear eachother down silly!)

Don't be scared. You may feel that everyone looks at you that way, but they probably don't. You have to take your eyes off of the people and put them on the One who saved you. If you look to people for approval, they will surely disappoint you. Even though you have gotten saved, you will stumble and struggle sometimes; everyone does. The difference is now, you have Someone to pick you back up and help you heal.
God Bless :)

NO! don't be scared. I am a PK (Pastor's Kid -- even though I ain't exactly a kid) but I still mess up at times. No need to be ashamed unless you are willingly doing it over and over. The Bible says, "For there is NONE righteous, no, not one." Do you think you are the only exception? You will still sin, but now you can directly access God in prayer and ask for His loving forgiveness.
Praise God for His Mercy and Saving Power!!!

no, dear. Don't be scared. Use this time as a rejoicing and celebration in God. I don't know what Church you go to, but the Church should be like your family. They will love you and support you. If you "mess up" they will still love you and support you and pray for you. It is not about pointing fingers and gossiping about each others faults - it is about being there for each other in good times and bad times. Your Church family loves you and wants God's best in your life and will help you achieve that goal. Don't be afraid. The best antidote to "messing up" is simply being so in love with Jesus that you simply don't have time to "mess up" and simply don't want to "mess up!" God bless you in your new life with Him!

Was consecrated into my church at the age of 8, baptized before my PDY in the Army (1993), but still called a 'heathen' and a 'godless sinner' by throngs of 'conservative Christian' types (read: right wing weirdos).
I consider myself God's child; and feel the Creator does too. So bugger them.
