1 cup butter-flavored shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 1/4 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Hardware:
Ice cream scooper (#20 disher, to be exact)
Parchment paper
Baking sheets

Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine the shortening, sugar, and brown sugar in the mixer's work bowl, and cream until light and fluffy. In the meantime, sift together the cake flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside.
Add the eggs 1 at a time to the creamed mixture. Then add vanilla. Increase the speed until thoroughly incorporated.
With the mixer set to low, slowly add the dry ingredients to the shortening and combine well. Stir in the chocolate chips. Chill the dough. Scoop onto parchment-lined baking sheets, 6 per sheet. Bake for 13 minutes or until golden brown and puffy, checking the cookies after 5 minutes. Rotate the baking sheet for even browning. Cool and store in an airtight-container.

The best chocolate chip cookies you'll ever eat. The pudding mix helps make them very soft.
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 cup butter
1 (3 1/2 ounce) package vanilla instant pudding mix
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Sift together flour, baking soda and salt and set aside.
In large bowl, cream together butter and sugars until very light and fluffy. Slowly beat in instant pudding mix until thoroughly combined. Add eggs one at a time and beat on low speed, scraping bowl, until mixed. Add vanilla extract and mix well.
Gradually stir in dry ingredients and mix until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips.
On an ungreased cookie sheet, drop cookie dough by tablespoons and flatten slightly with the back of the spoon. Bake 10 - 12 minutes, or until edges are brown and centers are still slightly light in color. Remove from oven and let cool on pan for a minute or two. Remove to wire racks and cool completely.
Store in an airtight container.

1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon baking soda
8 ounces chocolate, cut into chunks (approx 1 1/2 cup)
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Cream together; butter & sugars until creamy.
Add egg & vanilla & blend well.
In another bowl combine flour, cornstarch & baking soda.
Add to butter mixture and then add chocolate chunks.
Drop by tablespoons onto a greased baking sheet & bake for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown around the edges.

I've been waiting for a question like this... I have a great recipe for the best soft chocolate chip cookies i got if from my grandma who never gave anyone but my mom this recipe just let me find it and ill edit this answer.
P.S. last thanks giving i made these and they were gone before the turkey was touched.

Really the best one is on the back of the bag - the only thing you will need to change is Shortening instead of butter or margarine would you use. (yup shortening!) and when you use any kind of shortening, make sure you add about 2 teaspoons of water (for every cup) of shortening. Try not cooking them for more than 8 minutes too. Hope that helps!

The best choc. chip cookie recipe is right on the back of the nestle choc. chips bag. just cook them for a little bit shorter amount of time.
