Yeah I agree with one of the members above - its not even a castle. A house was built on the hill on top of the remains and it has a small tourist shop and thats about it. There are a few ruins left but dont expect any fancy castle like you see in the movies. If you want history, visit the Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem pub near the castle grounds ( claimed to be the oldest in England) or take a trip to Sherwood Forest and visit the tree that Robin Hood Apparently sat on?? :-)

I've lived in Nottingham all my life, The castle Isn't that great in fact its not a Castle, It's a manor house , what was left of the Castle was destroyed by fire in the 1800s.
