If you are insistint on getting a tattoo on your finger then I recommend that it not be a name or a date because if you ever decide to get divorced then you have a problem. If you go with a celtic knot type style then even if the marriage doesn't last you won't have to cover it up. And a celtic knot is still appropriate because it represents eternity.

All metal? I find that to be VERY unlikely, I'm sure there has to be something that will work. A lot of places won't do tattoos on hands for various reasons, what you need to do is do a local map search for tattoo parlors, give them a call and ask if they'll do it and then check the place out for cleanliness and all that jazz. Personally, I think you should just look for a different type of metal for a ring, but if you get the tattoos, good luck.

If you get a tattoo on such a small area as a finger overtime it could turn into a unreadable blob. Talk to an artist or do a google search and you'll see what i mean about tattoo's on the finger turning into a blob of ink. There is a proper term for what it's called when a tattoo turns into a blob but i can't remember what it's called right now.

my fiance and i had been talking about getting our spouses names on our ring fingers, (just a general discussion, we had nothing else to talk about and it just popped up in our convos) i think it would be neat to get his name on your ring finger and yours on his, so that if you did want to hide it, it would be underneath your wedding rings, but i do want to warn you that getting tattoos on your hands and feet, do fade alot quicker bc those parts of your body are always in the sunlight and they are totally different types of skin surfaces than the rest of your body.

I agree that a wedding date would be nice.

Don't get a band, it looks cheesy.
