Congratulations on your upcoming Confirmation. Other people have already provided good links, so I won't repeat what they've already done. I just thought I'd mention that increasingly more women are considering male Confirmation names, so you needn't confine your search to only saints from your own gender. A popular Confimation name for both males and females in my own parish is Sebastian. Also Michael. For unusual saint names, I like Crescentia, Bibiana (alternate spelling is Viviana), Apollonia, Desiderius, Scholastica, Columba, Hyacinth, Methodius, Oceanus, Cosmas, Rosalia, Orosia, Melchior or Acacius.

St Zita is unusual it means little hope. but you could google to find a saint relevant to where you live or your family history or just find a name you like and google it to see if its a saint, St Bridget became a nun at the age of 13 in a ceremony during which she was also consecrated bishop - the first christian woman to be so ordained. Bridget means Strength
enjoy your day

What's up Katrina?! This is so cool. I am about to be confirmed also! What you need to do is Yahoo or Google 'Patron Saints' There are tons of sites with lists of patrons. Find a hobby or country or patron that interests you (like mothers or baseball or nurses) and use that saint!

Mine is Bridget of Ireland

Patron Saint of Scholars and midwives and nuns and chicken farmers and Ireland and loads of other stuff!

Your confrimation name should come from a saint that you can use as a role model for your life. I suggest you reflect on your life and see where your weaknesses are. When you see where you need the most help go to the website below and look up saints by topic to find one that can help you with that weakness.

Hope that helps you and congratulations on your upcoming confirmation!!!

God bless,
Stanbo

P.S. My daughter is going to be confirmed soon. She is using the name of St. Gemma. Look her up on www.stgemma.com

Keep your Baptismal name or pick one of the latest women who is on the road to sainthood. Mother Marianne Cope from Syracuse NY is a good example of a woman with great courage who left her comfortable convent in Syracuse to travel to be with Fr.Damian who worked with lepers in Hawaii. You can find more information about her at sosf.org.
