Should I just wash the dishes after my boyfriend said he would do it 3 days ago?

ok i made dinner tuesday night and because i cooked an amazing meal my bf said he would clean up the kitchen and wash the dishes. Well its Thursday afternoon and still isnt' done! our place is starting to smell! He works a 13 hour day today and won't get home till late, and he prob. won't wash them when he gets home because he will be to tired. Should I just go ahead and wash and clean up the kitchen or should I just leave it for him to do? I want to clean it up because we hardly have any counter space left its all filled w/ dirty dishes and it smells! but if i do it i don't want him to think he can get away with it every time! what would you do and why?

Next time you are supposed to cook for him, don't! Or, buy him McDonald's and serve it on a paper plate! He "should" get the hint!

If he wasn't working hard and was out with his friends, etc.. I would say leave them but it sounds like he is not like that. Just do the dishes. Rather then hanging onto the big resentment and turning it into a stand-off, sometimes it's just easier to do it yourself.

My best advice in life is to pick your battles.....do you really want to go to war over a pile of dirty dishes? Don't sweat the small stuff. If it continues and turns into a habit of taking advantage of you, then that is worth fighting about. I guess I think life is too short to bicker over simple stuff (but I am not trying to downplay your disappointment at making a great meal and then not having him follow thru with his promise to clean up.)

i would just clean it this time but make sure he knows it wont happen all the time cuz its not fair a relationship should be a team and u2 should work together if he says he is goin2 do it he needs to stik to it. but if ur hous is startin to smell and u dnt hav counter space i wouldnt hold my breath for him to do it. hes not home enough since he works 13 hours to notice just talk to him about it
