In that order.
Liberals, you need to put your countries security before yourself, withdrawing the troops will not save anyone lives, nor will it end any conflicts. Infact it will do the opposite. If you dont have anything nice to say, than shut up and let us finish this job. If you come up with a feasible strategy to combat global terrorism that does not include war than I would like to hear it.

"I bet if we told the libs that terrorists are causing Global Warming they would change their tune."
Good God I think you just solved the war on terror! Its perfect, they will spend all their money, call in all their celebrity endorsements, and teach it in all the colleges our kids go to! The media will cover it 100% of time and give it an unnneccessary sense of urgency and the Y!A boards will flood with pro US comments!

Wow, I seriousely hope you come back to this question to read what im about to write.
We all know how Y!A works and how its kind of just a pissing contest back and forth between the two parties. But to be real, I completely understand what you are saying, and being in the military has nothing to do with political affiliation, only doing what you are told. You can only hope you are being told to do something which is good for your country.
You are correct, I have not been to boot camp yet and I do not know what it is truly like to be on the ground, and I loath the thought that one day I may do 2-3 tours of Iraq which is more than any 1 soldier should be doing. But I also understand the necessity of each of these tours. I only know what my brother tells me, he has had 10 years as a 13F in the 82nd airborne, but even his knowledge is kind of limited to his job field and the places he has been himself.

He supports Bush because he keeps the money coming in towards the effort and he thinks that we are making progress in training Iraqi forces with the hope that someday they will be able to take the wheel and steer boat.
I agree, withdraw may work, although I think its highly unlikely, given the circumstances and past conflicts such as vietnam. Also, the reason I fight against withdrawl so much is because I see the people who rally for it are people who are using emotions to base their decision as opposed to strategy. They are sad because they lost a family member or something similar and I uderstand that, its just I fear that they really dont believe we have an enemy. They are convinced that Bush is the only terrorists and that the only objective of the next 10 yeasr is to rid this country of Bush and any republicans because they think all republicans are like Bush.

I agree Bush isnt the smartest or the best republican that could be running this country, not by a longshot, but he is the CIC right now and he is the only one who believes in this cause and who is willing to give funding to the military. Even if he was as bad a person as people make him out to be I think calling for impeachent in a time of war is not very strategic, and I think that people who want to kill him and Cheney are no better than the evil we fight in the middle east.
This is a complicated war and if not executed properly could lead to a larger conflict. I agree, no one knows where it is going at this point, nor do they know what will work and what wont. I just post so much here A.) because I am bored at work and B) Because I truly believe this conflict can be won, and that withdrawl is not the quickest way to do it, then again neither is staying for 10 years.
I appreciate your comments and thank you for your service. Please excuse my
"pre-service" excitement, lol.

@ ROBERT N's added comments:
Please understand the republicans dont truly believe that all liberals think the same way, and I know a lot of the liberal posters on here are either to young to speak or just dont know anything. I agree there are many liberals fighting for us and whether the % is less than the number of republicans it makes 0 difference. We should all be in this together. I used to be a hardcore liberal not so long ago and I thought all this BS about the WTC being done by Bush and he is the anti-christ and all of that but I just realized that taht kind of thinking doesnt accomplish anyhting. Desent is good, questioning is good, but when your willing to lose a war just to prove republicans wrong (which IS what many liberals want), it is just not good for the country. And I decided if I didnt put my money where my mouth was and enlist I would be a hypocrite so I enlisted. I hope we do win this, and I hope we get out soon. I just hope we accomplish something good.

Funny, as a 17 year career Soldier and Officer, I don't tend to take my political or military advice from someone who hasn't even been to basic training yet.
That being said, until you know a LOT more about the entire scope of this very global conflict, you have no idea what withdrawing the troops will or will not do. Will withdrawing a significant number of troops send a message to the legitimate Iraqi government that they need to get off their backsides and do something? Perhaps it will..perhaps not. You don't know, and neither do I. Will a phased withdraw into Kuwait or another 'friendly' (are any of them friendly?) close country perhaps lessen the anger of the insurgency? Perhaps...perhaps not. Without a strong dictatorship in place similar to the one we overthrew, will the Sunnis and Shias be able to work out their differences and co-exist peacefully? I doubt it, but you never know. Is it possible kill all the terrorists? Maybe...? I honestly don't know, as it will really involve killing an ideology, not so much killing a finite number of people.
The fact of the matter is that there is no black and white solution to this problem....even after staying there for 10 years, it's very possible that we will be no further than we are right now at this very moment. It could even be worse in that time.
As a new recruit into the Army, I'm sure you just can't wait to get over there and kick some insurgent/terrorist butt...but, with the ARFORGEN cycle being what it is (Army Force Generation, basically the plan that determines how forces are mobilized), how are you going to feel after you've been over there 2-3 years out of a 6 year period?
I applaud your ability to stand behind your convicitions, and I know you'll be a good Soldier, just based upon how seriously you take the Army and all of the thoughtful questions you have posted on Yahoo Answers. I would encourage you, however, to keep an open mind and understand that simply repeating every Fox News and Rush Limbaugh talking point doesn't a good Soldier make. Everyone who has truly studied this issue understands that there is not a quick fix for the GWOT (Global War on Terrorism), and it will require sacrifice...
Simply branding every liberal as someone who does not understand the concept of "Duty Honor Country" is the wrong answer...Contrary to your belief ("shut up and let us finish this job..." there are a lot of liberals who are part of this war, too.
To Poster based on your added comments:
I'm glad to hear that. I probably need to get off of this Y!A site, as I am tending to take things too seriously. I make it a point to not throw labels like "liberal" and "conservative" around, although I identify myself as a liberal. We all have a job to do, and it is no crime to second guess (in your mind) the current decisionmakers (although as an officer, I have to be careful in how I do that), as long as it does not effect your mission or the way in which you lead Soldiers. I follow orders, even the ones I don't agree with. I love this country and I love the Army, and I am scared for the direction that both are going right now.

I agree, the terrorists and the countries that are sponsoring them are causing global warming. None of them have recycling or decent water and sewage systems, and the factories they have are not even rated for pollution, in Kabul, the air has 82 % fecal matter dust in it, so isnt that great for all our guys, I swear i got sick every time i went through that hole, what we need is a real team of World Police, just like Team America, f yeah, here we come to save the mfn day now. I agree with the celebrities having to shut up there sorry mouths too, tthey think that just because they are famous because they coulnt do a real mans job, that they have the right to speak for the rest of us, at times, I feel that speaking out against us, the people doing it shouold be banished for treason, if they dont like American policy they can get out.

We defined Liberals as those people who want to grow government at YOUR expense. You will pay for their programs. Liberals think with their emotions, but not their heads. They promise everything to everybody, but make sure that YOU end up paying for it.
Liberals gave us Medicare that now costs Billions of dollars in waste. Liberals gave us welfare, which also cost Billions, and made an entire race of people dependent on the government dole.
It goes on and on. Liberals want to appease dictators, hate the U.S. military, and run Hollywood, which denigrates and makes fun of the morals of most Americans every time they make a movie.
"Limousine Liberal" is the one I like the best. That phrase just encapsulates someone who is wealthy, out of touch with the working man, yet wants good old "Joe six-pack" to pay for everything that the Lib thinks of doing - and oh, yes, the Liberal looks down his/her nose at middle-America because they believe they are so much superior than those in "fly-over" country.
Liberals don't know how to defend a country.
Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it?
You?! You, Canada,Germany, France?! We have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Iraq and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what we know: that Iraqi deaths, while tragic, probably saved lives. And our invasion, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives! You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want the United States in Iraq, You need the US in Iraq.! We use words like honor, code, loyalty, freedom and democracy. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You can't even understand them. We have neither the time nor the inclination to explain ourselves to Countries who rise and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that we provide, and then questions the manner in which we provide it! We would rather you just said, "Thank you," and went on your way. Otherwise, We suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post.

Excellently put, Robert N.
I've been waiting over four long years for you to "finish this job" as the asker put it. But I was told nearly four years ago that the "job" was to remove S. Hussein from power, which, according to El Presidente, was completed May 1st 2003 (here's where I reference the "Mission Accomplished" banner hung on the USS Abraham Lincoln during his speech).
By my calender, that's nearly four years that there hasn't been a well-defined mission in Iraq. Or had there been another mission all along that hasn't been accomplished yet?
I am putting my nation's security before myself; I don't feel any safer today than I did four years ago, or even seven years ago.

You understand what ? Patriotism and Religion are the seeds of revolution. We are not looking for National pleasure to any extent further, we'd like a coming in combination underneath and umbrella of human global pleasure. The global demands to difference its philosophies in existence for a threat to get alongside. In situation of the countless numbers of religions on the earth we'd like a traditional "Book of Humanity" that applies to everybody on Earth. I believe the Internet helps that alongside.

Whatever blows your hair back man.
My view:
There was no reason for the Iraq invasion except for George's megalomania.
How many are now killed for his bloodlust?
He might be termed a global terrorist himself.
