If you have a positive pregnancy test, it is more than likely accurate.
Breastfeeding won't have any effect upon the result.
You don't say how old your baby is, but if it is older than 6 weeks I would say congratulations are in order!!

breastfeeding will not effect the test. I dont know about after giving birth. I hope you at least waited the 6 wks to let your body heal.
My son was 4 months when I found out I was pregnant with my daughter. I was breastfeeding at the time and I continued to breastfeed.

You need to wait at least 6-8 weeks after giving birth before a hpt will be accurate. It says so in the directions!

breastfeeding won't affect the accuracy of a pregnancy test.
my understanding is that within a few weeks (2 or 3 weeks) the hcg from a pregnancy that is over will be out of your system.

within a very short time frame your hcg levels are back to normal - and a false pos, in any circumstance is highly unlikely
