About pagans who don't practice witchcraft. I've talked to a lot of christians and (not all) but the majority disliked them because they said they were partners with satan and magic which i find extremely hilarious since pagans don't believe in satan and not all pagans to witchcraft. A few of my friends are pagan. Pagan people are as peaceful as buddhists. they have a creed, many rules and structures within the religion.
Why do christians still dislike pagans without knowing anything about the religion? it really has NOTHING to do with doing magic, contacting the dead, fortune teling or making sacrifices of dead animals. Most are just peaceful people who are like everyone else in society.

Well first you have to go to the origin of th word:Jewish ha'a'rets:
The sense of ‛am ha·’a′rets changed from one of general respect to one of religious opprobrium, much as the Latin term paganus, from which the English word “pagan” is derived. Pagan originally meant simply a dweller in a rural community, but since those country people were often the last to be converted, it came to be used by city dwellers as applying to all who did not adopt their professed Christian beliefs. In a similar way the term “heathen” at first meant simply one who lived out on the “heath” or field. So any practice which does not go along with the healthful teaching would be deemed pagan.........no big deal.......just a word.

May I began by saying that Christians do not dislike anyone simply because of their beliefs. It seems to me atheist would like to believe that Christians are haters of all those who do not believe in Jesus Christ. This is absolutely false and anyone who follows after Christ will tell you this. So please understand that much the next time you post a question. Christan's disagree with pagans because they're religion is contrary to the truth of the Gospel. However, just like Christ was able to love sinners in spite of their ways, so too are Christians expected to embrace all. Not their ways.

I'm christian. Some people think I'm strange for talking about Pagan's like equals. I don't know too much about all of this, all I DO know is that this has been going on for a long time, and it will never truly end. :(

Sorry, but I do know a few and they strike me as lost young people trying to be different. They have no clue what they are dabbling in. It is a very sad time, that such practices have become popular mainstream ideals. This is also a fulfillment of the scriptures during the end of days.

One of my best friends is a pagan - and she's a better "Christian" than many of the Baptized believers I know.
(But I still work on her!)

What defines pagan beliefs? I actually don't know.
PS- as a Christian, I don't hate people who practice witchcraft anymore than I hate people who smoke, I just believe their practices are harmful.

Because paganism is still a far cry from the truth.
Christ is the only way to heaven.
We don't dislike the person......we dislike the religion.

I do not dislike anyone because they are not Christian. It is not up to me when a person is called to Christ. I am not going to represent myself in a negative way as a follower of Christ.

The majority of Christians are nearly as misinformed about other faiths as they are about their own.
