A couple of eggs, a cup or so of milk, just a bit of cinnamon & nutmeg, some flavoring like vanilla, orange or almond. Beat those all together. Take a few slices of bread, dense bread is good (white bread like Wonder ISN'T very workable--too soft). Dip the bread so that it is evenly coated, don't let it really soak, and transfer to a lightly greased pan. Fry for a few minutes, turn over and fry the other side for a few minutes. Done. Don't forget the butter and syrup!!! Enjoy!

The best french toast Ive ever made was with eggnog. Just beat your eggs and add some eggnog and a little bit of sugar. Then heat your butter in the pan and fry on both sides till cooked and slightly browned. No need for syrup, just sprinkle wihth powdered sugar. YUM

3 large eggs
Splash of milk (I like using whole milk, but any kind is good)
2-3 tablespoons of cinnamon (add more or less to suit your tastes)
2-3 shakes of cinnamon sugar
8 slices of Pepperidge Farm White Bread - Family size is good
2-3 Tablespoons of butter (or Pam cooking spray would be fine)
Whisk eggs, milk, and cinnamon together. This will be your batter for the bread. Heat a skillet/pan on medium heat with the tablespoons of butter until it is just melted. Add a piece of bread to your batter mixture - coat both sides and let the excess fall into the bowl. Place coated bread onto pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side - until golden brown.
Use maple syrup and powdered sugar to garnish.
