If you were to look for instances of unfair treatment of women in the bible from Moses to Paul, I assure you there will be NO SHORTAGE.
BUT as a person who believes in what Christ said, and that it is ONLY his directives that matter, all these things are irrelavant.
Christ said, 'Love your neighbour as yourself". So if you yourself do not want to be treated like a sex object, subservient nobody, property, lesser vessel, etc. Then do not treat women that way. Pure and simple.

At the time women weren't thought of the same as men. I wouldn't say that the writers didn't like women any more than they didn't like cattle. They just didn't conceive of the idea that women could be the equal of men. It's not just Genesis. Even the NT has women being told to be silent in churches and not to attempt to teach.

Isn't it strange the same people who say the Bible is a moral guide are also the ones here saying treating woman as property was ok back then?

Maybe they were. I don't think they actively hated women, just like I don't believe most racists actively hate other races. They grew up during a period in which women didn't have equal rights. Women in the Middle East are still living in that period. (If the American taliban gets its way, they'll turn this country into another religious anti-science backwards nation.)

The Bible was written in very patriarchal times. Women's rights are a recent phenomenon. Unfortunately, much of the chauvinism today is probably a holdover from those times propagated by religions rooted in those times.

I don't think they actually hated women. But, they certainly treated them as inferiors.

No. What they are is accurate reflections of their time.
If you consider the bible as timeless, *THEN* they are misogynists.
