Sautee some onions in butter.

Toss a couple of slices of deli ham onto a hot pan for a couple of minutes...just enough to brown them a little bit on each side.

Butter two pieces of rye bread.

Put the ham, onions, and slices of swiss cheese on the bread, with the butter side out.

Cook like a grilled cheese sandwich.

Tasty!!

I'm NOT pregnant and food is all I can think about! But, the difference is, I'm in menopause and you're with child. Either way, I suspect that hormones are the culprit here!. And, just as I have been advised to eat foods that provide appropriate nutrition and don't trigger the effects of hormone surges, pregnant women need to consider good nutrition as well. You'll want to keep your weight at a reasonable roar while feeding you and your unborn child! An occasional trip to the ice cream store for a double dip of chocolate fudge something or another is a perfect way to treat yourself! Relax and enjoy!

Whatever you want would be the simple answer.

I like to make a nice grilled cheese with bacon. On the side I like a little salad with some good homemade rasberry oil and vinegar dressing with some lemon pepper on top. Maybe add some shredded carrots and some sliced onions for fun. And to top it all off I like a nice refreshing glass of ice water.

If you are feeling like dessert...icecream (but in moderation).

CANNELLONI FILLED WITH RICOTTA AND SPINACH
(for 2 people)
Ingredients for the filling: 10 cannelloni (pasta tubes), 250 g ricotta, fresh spinach (as much as you like), 3 Tbsp pinenuts, 1 garlic glove, extra-virgin olive oil, salt.
Ingredients for the sauce: 1 can tomato purée, 1/2 small onion, extra-virgin olive oil, fresh basil, salt, chili powder.

Prepare the tomato sauce by cutting onion and put it a pan with some extra-virgin olive oil, cook until soften. Add tomato purée, salt and chili powder and cook for at least 30 minutes. Add some fresh basil at the end.
Clean and wash the spinach, cook them in a pan with extra-virgin olive oil, garlic clove and salt until soften. Mix the spinach with ricotta and pine nuts, add salt and stir well. Take an oven tray, cover the bottom with some extra-virgin olive oil and tomato sauce. Fill cannelloni with the ricotta-spinach filling and put them in the tray, side by side. Cover cannelloni with the rest of the tomato sauce, some oil and grated Parmigiano.

And then a good Macedonia (mixed fruit salad)

Grilled cheese sandwich and some tomato soup.

But I make mine a bit different than a lot of people. I like dill pickle slices and mayo on the inside. I thought it sounded weird at first, but these kids I babysat always ate theirs that way, and they got me hooked.

Yum, I'm gonna go make one...
