What powers does it possess? What possible harm can it cause? Do you know the history of the pentagram?

I'm really curious exactly why you think it's dangerous and/or evil. Thanks!

Many misconceptions - along with the demonization of the reversed pentagram in the late 19th and through the 20th century by both Christians and Satanists.

The Pentagram has been used by many societies throughout history. Including Christians who used to it represent the wounds of Christ.

Now-a-days, Wiccans and Satanists claim the pentagram as their own. Which for Christians make it part of the realm of the decieved.

The pentagram itself isn't evil. It's the way it's used that can make it appear evil. It's just a symbol, one that was used for a long time by Christians as a symbol of faith, sort of like the cross is used today.

It doesn't have any power on it's own, it's what people put into it that gives it power. Today, it's thought of as evil because certain groups of people have used it in ways others feel are against God.

The pentagram has no powers unto itself. It is considered to be evil by some because of what it is associated with,i.e.: Satan, devil worship, witchcraft, etc.

If memory serves me correctly, the pentagram was originally a Christian symbol, but weird off-shoot religions decided to take a Christian symbol, modify it, and make it represent something else.

It's not really all that bad, but in the region where I live (a town that's home to something that rhymes with Boral Boberts Buniversity) I wouldn't wear one publicly for fear of causing a scene and putting myself on 600 different prayer lists.

Christain objection to this symbol is what it represents.

Many people wear a pentacle pendant or ring as a sign of their interest in occult and spiritual matters.

the Satanic pentagram, the inverted pentagram (single point down). Given that the up-right pentagram represents Spirit, or Deities control over the elements, then the inverted pentagram represents Satan and Chaos.

This symbol is used in a way that is contrary to bible teachings which tell us to stay away from sorcery, witch craft and the occult.

Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

I do not think that the pentagram itself is evil.

Satanist and other insane creatures often use it for their ceremonies, that's why it's beleived to be evil; but don"t forget, not the symbol itself makes bad things.

Othewise pentagram is an ancient symbol and it has good and bad meaning alike.

I am a Christian, and I've never believed that the pentagram is evil. It's no more evil than any other symbol, religious or secular. A symbol is nothing for any rational person to be afraid of.

On it's own it causes no harm, but what makes the swastika evil? It's associated with a group of people who do horrible things. The pentagram is associated with those who worship the Devil, the most despicable being ever.

i dont find a pentagram evil at all... it possesses no powers. it can do no harm to me. i mildly know the history of the pentagram.

for all it is, is a symbol. no more of a symbol than the cross i wear on my necklace. my cross possesses no powers, it can do no harm. it is but a reminder to me of what Christ did out of love for the world.

:)

a symbol is never evil in and of itself.

but think back to the symbol of Nazi germany. is that evil? the Hindu's dont think so! for them it means peace (or something similiar- i confess, i'm not an expert there)

really a symbol has no power except the power given to it in the minds of man.

It's not the pentagram itself, it's the practice of witchcraft that's usually associated with it.

I know that not all witchcraft is meant to harm per se, but I believe it's against God to try and manipulate the spirit realm. And that it is dangerous to deal with spirits outside of God's covering; because it opens a person's life to demons (no matter how "good" they pretend to be).
