Because single women are unpredictable and crazy. No one understands the mind or heart of a woman, not even that woman herself. A married woman tells men two things:
1. She's probably somewhat stable to go through with a marriage.
2. Some guy, assuming he's not a nutjob, thinks this woman is worth marrying (not just because of the butterfly in the stomach feeling she gives him).
Why go through the trial and error with random women when you can try to scoop out the tried and true end product? I'm sure there are also other reasons, pretty similar to the reasons why women are attracted to married men.

I'm obviously not a guy but i think men go for married women because of the thrill of going after something that isn't yours. Plus, the committment factor. It's less likely that the married woman will want any committment or strings (considering 75% of married cheaters do not leave their spouse for the person they are cheating with). Men are more likely to get the "just about sex" relationship from married women.

b/c if you sleep w/ her there won't be any attachments. And its kind of taboo, so that makes more exciting.
