I was in the hospital for awhile due to a bad flare up of Lupus. My doctors say my muscles have atrophied and I need to exercise..Ok, so Ive been doing that - starting off very small - five to ten minutes at a time - Is it normal for my whole body, especially my legs to be really shaky a few hours afterwards, I feel like my legs are going to give on me...will it go away after I exercise for awhile? Advice Please ;)

My friend has Lupus and I understand(as best I can) what you are going through. Carol(friend)suggested that you work on nourishing your body, protein, fruit, water, water, water, as you ease into exercise. Walk, and if you are able, carry small weights, anything 2-4 lbs. She exercises her legs while in bed. Leg lifts and stretching can be done while lying down and won't tire you so easily. Also be good to your soul, get a massage,a new hair do, or, just some scented candles and some yummy bath oil. Bless you

Yes, thats normal. My muscles still often do that after a really good workout. Especially if your muscles have atrophied. Your muscles are in shock, its pretty normal.
