A friend of mine is expecting her first child and as part of her shower gift I am making a book of things that I wish people had told me before I had my child. Please help me out by letting me know what you wish people had told you. It can be serious or funny. She has no clue what to expect so any hints are helpful.

I'm looking for things like
Change the baby before you feed her.
And
No matter how smart your husband thinks he is he will not be able to work a car seat.

don't expect to have much sleep or money in the next few years, its the worst and best thing ever and the feeling you get holding your new baby is the best. also expect to cry at anything slightly sad, or cute

If you/hubby has a weak stomach, have the other one change the first few dirty diapers.
