I will be getting married soon and the man I am going to marry is Khmer Krom (Cambodian mixed with Vietnamese). I am Chinese among other things and his family is somewhat new to America, so we're finding it very difficult to find dresses or even the material. I need ten dresses, plus two dresses for each of my three bride's mates. We can't even find the material so we could make them. The only places are in Cambodia, but it will take far too long to have them made in my size and shipped over. Please, if anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

I can't get it from Cambodia, it will take too long and my bride's mates need two dresses each, one for the wedding and one for the banquet after.

Already exhausted google, yahoo and all that, and weddingsolutions.com is for western type weddings, that's y I am asking people, if any individual knows where I can find Cambodian dresses, it'd be very helpful. I'm asking if any one KNOWS for a fact there is a place that sells them in the US. I really need these. Thanks

I know Cambodian culture has similarities to Indian culture and the fabrics are similar as well as the designs, but it's not the same. I don't want to offend my mother in-law. She will be severely disapointed if I don't wear the traditional Cambodian wedding dress. I'd prefer to look at Indian fabrics as a last resort.

Even if Cambodian fabrics can be found, I need something nice, not plain fabrics, something for wedding dresses, not plain cheap fabric. Anything you can find with google or yahoo I have already seen it. Please do not leave me answers unless you actually know of a place where it can be bought.

Because you need to go to places that sell India and Sorri fabric- it's almost exactly the same. Cambodian and India wedding costuming is very very similar... I would say the Cambodian is almost a in-between of American and India pattern making.
Google pictures and then check out a stores that sell Indian fabrics. It might not be exactly the same but it will be as close as you are going to get buying fabric in the USA!

And to everyone else...
The bride changes her dress 10 times and sometimes the bridesmaids change into another dress. It's a status and social thing.
