Ok, I love tilapia fish. I like it baked, fried, sauted, and grilled. Anybody got any good recipes on how to cook tilapia fish? Or any good links as well? I'm ready to try something new with it!

Thanks in advance!

Pesto Talapia

You can buy pre-made basil pesto (in the summer make it fresh) Spread the pesto over the raw fish. With a brush or very lightly with a fork or spoon.
Prepare bread crumbs with Italian seasonings place in a skillet on the stove add some butter until slightly moist. A little salt a pepper to taste.

Bake the talapia at 350 for about 10 minutes without the bread crumbs. Then spoon on the bread crumbs and bake for another 5 minutes or so or until the fish is cooked ( the time left will vary depending on how big/thick your fillets are and how cooked you like your fish).

When you are done you will be amazed at how simple yet flavorful it is.

The reason this recipe doesn't read like other recipes is because you can change a lot of it and still have a great piece of fish. Like with no bread crumbs or and arugula peso. You could add some red pepper puree, the list goes on and on.
Serve this with a pasta or rice. It goes well with lots of side like polenta. Have fun with it and be creative. Cooking is all about breaking the recipe and putting your own twist on it.

Yum, tilapia is great! My husband and I love Mexican baked fish - very easy and so tasty!
We make it for 2, but the ingredients are pretty easy to adjust for more than 2:
2 Tilapia filets
1 C salsa
1/2 C shredded cheese
1/2 C crushed tortilla chips

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. coat oven safe dish with cooking spray
3. Place tilapia in dish, cover evenly with Salsa then cheese then chips. (Don't put the cheese on top of the chips - they stick together and get mushy; they go on last and get warm and crispy - seems odd, but they taste so good with the dish!)
4. Bake for 15-20 minutes until fish flakes easily with fork.
We serve it over a bed of white rice or spanish rice. Enjoy!

I make this one all the time, its the only way I can get anyone in my family to eat fish!

Lemon Garlic Tilapia

INGREDIENTS
4 tilapia fillets
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Rinse tilapia fillets under cool water, and pat dry with paper towels.
Place fillets in baking dish. Pour lemon juice over fillets, then drizzle butter on top. Sprinkle with garlic, parsley, and pepper.
Bake in preheated oven until the fish is white and flakes when pulled apart with a fork, about 30 minutes.

There is actually an American Tilapia Association, and they have some great recipes on their website. They give you many many methods for cooking. Everything from beer-battered and fried to baked lemon parmesan. I've listed the link, because there are way too many good ones to choose from.

I love to make tilapia on the grill with dill and butter/olive oil. Add a side of whole grain rice and some green veggies. MMM.

I once steamed it and put a dab of marinara sauce over the top, that was pretty good too.

My family loves it grilled like this...
I put the individual fillet in a foil pack, with a drizzle of lemon juice, pepper, seasoned salt and whatever spices ya want. (I have something called Shrimp Butler, it is a spice for all seafoods - got it at our local Jungle Jims seafood area, but its awesome). I also use cajun spices at times. But any way, grill it in the foil for about 10 minutes.. Also in seperate foil pack, I cut up some squash and zucchini w/ a little bit of butter and lemon juice and grill that for about 10-15 mins., when I serve the dish, I lay the fish on top of the squash - everyone says they love it.
