Yes. A single hair lives only a certain timespan, about 5 years for humans. After that, it falls, and from its bulb grows a new one. This holds true for men and women alike. When a man gets over a certain age (this age is different for every man and is genetically determined), his hormones may (but must not) stop the growth of new hairs from the bulbs, and the man becomes bald over the years. It may look like a man's haiir is falling out, but in truth men and women lose hairs in the same rate, women's hairs just keep growing after that and men's do not.
What is unnatural for a woman is to lose many hairs from one spot at a time. This may be a symptom of an illness and the woman should see a doctor then.
