How were you discharged is what really matters here and did you serve at least two years before your discharge. If you got a dishonorable discharge your Montgomery GI Bill is gone. You never get the money back.

That all depends on the type discharge you received when you got out. If it was a good dischargeyou can use the G.I. Bill for more than just school, you can contact your local V.A. rep for all the information you need about the bill. I you received a bad discharge you're not going to be able to use the bill for anything, it's pretty well gone.

If you are wanting to use your GI bill you can go to the local VA office and they can help you. You can't get the actual $1200.00 back at all. If you got a dishonorable discharge then you can never get the money back or use the GI Bill for your education.

as long as you were fully vested(in the military for 2 years) and you received anything but an OTH or BCD, you have up to ten years to use the GI Bill.
If you do not meet all the criteria, however, you forfeit the $1200 altogether and you do not get to utilize the GI Bill.

Sorry Bro, but if ye didn't do the time ye don't get the bling! It is a great investment, if ye is able to complete the requirements. However if ye were discharged due to medical or other assorted reasons ye are still able to use yer bennies. Contact VA, ask to talk to a real benny admin person, then ye get the real skinny.

You go to College some on line courses qualify also - unless you have a dishonorable discharge on your record - then you get no benefits at all.

Got discharged?
Any status other than "Dishonorable" can be petitioned to be upgraded to Honorable. Then you can use your GI Bill.

You dont get the money back that you put into it, you have to attend college to see any of that money. Any college or university that you want to attend will fill out the paperwork and help you to get that money to pay for your schooling.

Looks like someone didn't read the instructions when he signed up for the deal! What was that that the great philosopher Forrest Gump said? STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES.
