I do believe in Christ. But already I have been condemned by someone in here as a hell bound non-believer just because I DARE question or engage discussion about the various aspects of Christian doctrine and biblical interpretation.

Does it mean that when certain people say, "Accept Jesus" what they REALLY mean is, accept MY church's doctrine and biblical interpretation, our political stance, our social stance etc.?

Spot on. You've got it in a nutshell. Sometimes it is even more personal than that - they want you to accept their own individual interpretation and not their church's.

A lot of the time this is down to 'new christian syndrome' where the afflicted believe that they are the only true representative of god in the whole world. This usually goes away fairly quickly.

Nowhere in your bible does it say that you have to shut off your brain in order to be a follower of your god. I used to be church of england, and we were encouraged to question our faith and the bible. Something about "making sure that (your) faith was built on a foundation of rock". In my case that led to theistic Zen agnosticism, but that's another story.

The Word of God says not to accept any other gospel into your home. Yes, I do believe there are some books that were never cannonized in the Bible however the true message is not lost in translation or lost in missing books.
People have allowed themselves to be mislead when it comes to these new theories that Jesus was married and fathered a child. Even if He did so what? Does that make Him less Holy, less knowledgeable, unable to save?
That does not change the message, love one another, strive for holiness, obey one master etc.
The Word of God says seek not to be a novice. Jesus died and rose again but before He departed, He left us with the Comforter (The Holy Spirit) to guide us into all truths. Study to show thyself approved.

There are 2 kinds of believers. Christians and Religious people. Poeple who go around throwing messages of damnation instead of love or telling someone who disagrees or has honest questions about a particular non-essential doctorine that they are going to Hell has completely missed the message of Jesus. Hell is real, but we are to spread the Word of Jesus with love an compasion and not quarral over little details like if drinking is a sin.

I don't know what your question was, but I would be glad to help if I can.

Almost every Christian that I have met has gotten a gleam in their eye when I state that I am an atheist. The reason is that they want very badly to be part of the elite. They feel that they are better than others who have different beliefs... and they are the only ones who actually get to win the stuffed animal at the carnival. For every poor soul that they meet who is destined to burn for all eternity, they get a little "Yay me". Elitism has been around forever and is somehow ingrained into all of us... "NO girls allowed", "NO boys allowed","NO heathens allowed". Be a good human being with compassion, caring and charity and you will enjoy your heaven right here... for your ENTIRE life.

2 Corinthians 13:5 says: "Keep testing whether YOU are in the faith, keep proving what YOU yourselves are."

We are supposed to make sure that what we believe is the truth. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I go door to door regularly and am continuously having my beliefs tested by the beliefs of others. This is why my faith is strong. Many religions teach that you should just trust what they say and not question it. This is only because they know what they teach isn't from the Bible and would crumble under scrutiny.

NO.... no no no no no.
People should know better than that.
I'm with you there sweety....

We are all expressing our own belief and what we have been taught by our own study and interpretation of doctrine.
Please don't take offense to everyone being passionate about their own, it's hard to type a tone here... so sometimes you gotta just give people the benefit of the doubt.

Ufortunately, a lot of people have been doing that. If you disagree, they give you a thumbs down, report you, and then tell you you are going to burn in hell.

Sad, but some don't like the fact that you question things. I can understand cause I once questioned things too. It's normal.

And they have no right to judge you anyway!

Who needs mind control when you have religion. Don't you understand with Christians you are either completely with them or your are going to hell!!! Wherever hell maybe?

"Each God created a separate religion and set himself as Creator above the humans, who faithfully became slaves to him."

Search the truth at the below sites and get a clue about the truth of religion.

People become over enthusiastic about their beliefs....so yeah you're right in the fact that they tend to send you to hell for not believing EXACTLY the same way they do even though Christians worship the same God.
