Have you ever felt like an alien? Not literally, of course. Although I try to convince myself I can get along with people, I am often disapointed and the thought that I don't belong keeps bothering me.I sometimes feel I have major differences in my way of thinking with other people.Such different views about so many different subjects, such different expectations and different reactions, that I can't have soeone that completely understands me.And it's not about everyone being unique, because the others seem to get along very welll between them. There are moments when I feel I can't communicate with the others, as if we are different species. It's really deppresive, because I come to think a normal social life is not for me.It gets worse wwhen I think I don't deserve it.Being proud of being different may help temporary, but then you think abouts what's the point of being diffrenet and unhappy. This is probably not the way it's supposed to be, is it?

YES. I have NEVER felt like I fit in ANYWHERE. I always try to be optimistic when I go into a new situation, but I just know that I must be too different. I have never had a normal social life, because I just have SUCH a hard time making friends. I just can't relate to people. It's not that I can't communicate with people; I do alright in class (I'm in college) and everything. I just can't seem to make friends. It's very frustrating, and I get VERY lonely.

If you have had difficulties with your social skills since early childhood, you may have Asperger's Syndrome.
Most people with Asperger's have difficulty interacting with their peers. They tend to be loners and may have eccentric behaviors. For example, they may have a compulsive interest in one subject such as the weather and spend hours each day watching the "weather channel" or reading books about weather. Many people with Asperger's also have coordination problems.
You might want to read further on this. There are many websites such as
http://www.aspergers.com/
You might also find it helpful to see a therapist to get help with social skills.
Good luck! Remember, differences are what makes the world interesting!

You are not alone (ha-I just realized that relates to aliens!)
Many, many people feel this way. I even had a dream where "aliens" scanned the right side of my brain (I told them they could only if they helped us with world peace!) I woke up and couldn't move for 10 minutes.
Just because you are a little different don't worry. We are evolving as a species-actually very rapidly right now and it is normal to do this.
There are a lot of websites and books that help me. One is called The Dissapearance of the Universe.
Keep being who you are and don't worry about what society thinks! Good luck.

I don't just feel like one I am one. I don't like crowds of people and don't go in them unless it is something very important. I am not good about making conversation about getting a boyfriend, getting a boyfriend to marry you, and I don't enjoy wedding mania for the ones that have the first two figured out. I don't like playing games with guys the ones that want to chase you, the others that want you to chase them and the point being who can have the most girls in one or the other category. What ever happened to people that want to have a conversation about something real? I am not worried about being an alien if this is what normal is like I don't want to fit in.

I think many people have the feeling that they do not belong. You need to keep looking for that person who has the same insights that you do. Watch for the reaction people have when you talk about something. If they look bored or annoyed don't talk abotu it anymore! The old rule is that you never talk about politics or religion with your friends because it always leads to an argument.
Another thing is that perhaps you may have ADHD?

I'm not a big socializer either, believe me. And sometimes I have doubts on if things are going to be better and I won't be so bored and lonely. But I have hope that my future will be much brighter and better. I just have to hold on. I can't say for sure but I hope that something or someone comes along and can either change your point of view or understand it.
Bye!

sure. yet, it incredibly is almost huge-unfold, at this factor. in lots of circumstances, i think like God is the only source of love in my existence. After a number of the failings that I certainly have experienced in my family participants, i'm even alienated from them, in lots of procedures. My mom became a Catholic while she had me out of wedlock. My uncles have been all Catholics and substance-addicted, one in each of them killed by ability of their addiction. I attempt desperately to convince them that they are on a highway to nowhere, and that they do no longer prefer to pay attention it. i do no longer have confidence that their Catholic ideals performed into their loss of duty. although, I do now and returned have confidence that their Catholic ideals performed into their loss of subject for the implications of their strikes.
