Is there any way to scan a double sided document thru a PDF without having to copy it to a single sided document first?

okay, for example

I have a 52 page double sided document.
I have to scan it thru the copier, to send it to an e-mail address as a pdf file. (it is not already in my compuer)

scanning it page at a time is the best answer so far, but I was hoping there was a way to scan the whole document like one can copy 2 sided to 1 sided if you understand me.

Im not sure what you are asking. You cant "scan through a PDF".

You can scan a double-sided "document" using a scanning application like Microsoft imaging, and rearange the pages (easy) to make them sequential, then save as PDF. Is that what you are looking to do???

I use Adobe at work and after scanning the page via the document feeder of the printer, it asks if I want to scan more pages or if I am finished. Then I can flip over the page and scan the other side. I don't know what version you're using, I think we have 7 or 8. We can put as many pages as we want into one pdf. It also has a feature to merge several separate pdf files into one document. Maybe you need to upgrade.

I have an HP scanner. After page 1, I remove it from the tray, put it in the feeder once again. Then when it asks "scan another page?" I click yes. Of course, you can do the same thing if you don't use a feeder. Turn it over on the glass before clicking "yes." Works for me.

That is going to depend on the software and hardware you are using. Some scanners/software will allow you to pause and add pages in which case you can flip the page over, but others do not.

PDFs don't need to be scanned as they are already in the computer...
