swelling is normal. the raised part is probably the scab forming. after only a couple of days it should not start peeling. mine usually start peeling between day 5 and 10 depending on where it is on my body. just keep caring for it however your artist told you to and give it time.

Some red inks can cause an infection. It wouldn't hurt anything to have a doctor take a look at it if it doesn't look better in a couple of days. I have 8 tattoos and that never happened but I had a friend that had an infection in hers and she had what you are describing. If you think you should go to the doctor, then go. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that it's normal, it's not. Your health and safety is most important.

It may be due to the placement of the tattoo. I got one on my lower stomach just below my belly button and it acted like that. All my others which are all on my back peeled faster.

mine was exactly the same to be honest, everyone heals differently on different parts of their body.
only start worrying if theres pain and you think it looks infected (the swollen skin will be pink and very sore to touch)
also, i think peeling makes it fade a little so if you keep plenty of cream on it ( i used nappy rash cream! ) it shouldnt peel anyway

i got one that wrapped, and the once on my back did look swollen and raised...but the ones on my side and stomach did.
they were even a little hot.
My artist had me ice em, keep the lotion on em, and try not to have clothing or anything rub em

depending on the person and where it is on their body i'd say it is normal. call the tat place and ask what to put on it to sooth the swelling.

no it is not. I suggest you go to a doctor and have her look at it and determine if it is safe or not.
