Remember your ABCs. Airway, Breathing and Circulation. If you are not trained in emergency medicine, do not attempt to find out what's wrong. Call 911, explain to the operator what happened. If the person has arrested, you will be instructed to begin CPR.

Always follow the 911 operator's instructions to the letter. Do not leave the scene until EMTs have arrived. Stay on the phone with the operator. Don't hang up. Once the EMTs have arrived, do not leave until you are told to do so. If the EMTs tell you to back off, do it. Let them do their jobs.

check their pulse, check their breathing..if missing, start CPR. If they're breathing and pulse is good, elevate feet and cover them (treat for shock). Call 911.
