It does sound like it.. my sister is bipolar. She tends to react before she thinks it through. I hope he is on medication to help control it. Give him some time and I am sure he will come around. Bi polar is a very confusing disorder not only for the people who have it but for the people that know somebody with. The best thing to do is to educate yourself about bi-polar and find out ways you can help and understand the disorder. That is what I did and it helped me understand that different moods that my sis can get it and ways for it not to affect me so much and ways to help her when she gets that way.. Best luck to you

He is diagnosed with being bipolar? Yes, it could be-it is hard to answer not knowing more. Does his behavior include roller coaster moods-one minute up, ten minutes later like the end of world is is near?
How old is he? This may include a more spiritual thing. And when I say spiritual I don't mean religious. If he is young he may well be an indigo. That means basically that he is wired a bit different and that as a species we are evolving and in order to keep up with technology we have to also evolve spiritual and mentally.
There may be many factors. Good luck!

My husband became bipolar. He surpassed directly to the full beyond for the time of one in each of his depressed states. constantly take a bipolar extreme while they're depressed. they like help. while they're on the different end, they're oversexed and communicate lots. extremely gregarious passionate people. they additionally get mad extremely certainly. Up and down, up and down. no longer something in between. My son is likewise bipolar. I many times prefer respite, yet he's so up and down few people would be around him for extremely long.

I think so. I am bipolar and I always cut people off from me for a while then when I feel better I want to talk to them again. It is not healthy for him or you. If you really love him stick by his side however if his moods are not in control he might continue to do that to you and you might end up getting fed up with it. It could damage your feelings for him. Most of my friends have gotten fed up with my yo-yo/rollercoaster behavior.
Good luck

It sounds like your boyfriend is not stabilized on medications right now.
If he does not take his medications every day, he will continue to have problems in life.
It is best to get on with your life. He may be quite ill right now and you cannot "fix" him.
He needs to get to the point where he realizes he HAS to take his medication and see his psychiatrist on a regular basis.
Only THEN will he be ready for a relationship!

The thing with bipolar is that any type of irrational behaviour is probably an issue. Are you sure that it is an irrational issue? Maybe he got embarrased at his illness. I know I had issues with my wife when we were dating about my BP. But I worked through it.
