Keep the planet cool??? You must be to young to remember the global cooling warnings we were given by scientists in the 70s...

I read much of the articles, incuding the parts you highlighted. If it said: "His views threaten the number and amount of grants obtained by mainstream scientists" it would probably better address their real concerns.

These answers make me worry that the martians are going to come after us when they realize we are causing their planet to get warmer. I wish the supporters of global warming would take the time to look at all the evidence and not just the evidence that supports their claims.

FYI--those "warnings" of global cooling that you refer too were nevermore than pop science articles. Scientist at the time (legitimate ones) never predicted or claimed the Earth was headed for another Ice Age.

What they were doing is exploring possibilities in an area that was not well understood. One possibility was that the Earth could get cooler--another that it could get warmer. The popular science press picked up on the "cooling" hypothesis simply because it made good copy.

As for Mars--there are natural processses that cause global warming as well ashuman actions. Ignoring that is like saying humans don't ever start forest fires because some forest fires are caused by lightening. No offense, but it just makes you sound stupid.

Gore is just afraid that u will use the fuel for his jet. The CO2 thing doesn't add up and they have lost all the methane also. If they were they should be a huge lake of methane very high in our atmosphere but it is not there.

Yes, let's save Mars it would make a perfect location for all the "Big Brother" nut jobs that are taking over here. Maybe they can convince the martians of their sincerity?

""His views are completely at odds with the mainstream scientific opinion," said Colin Wilson, a planetary physicist at England's Oxford University.'

'Wobbles in the orbit of Mars are the main cause of its climate change in the current era," Oxford's Wilson explained'

Did you even read the article (hint: those quotes I included are from the article), or are you happy to cherry pick anecdotes to support your denial of reality? It's a rhetorical question my friend.

Increased solar radiation may be warming Mars, but it's not the main cause of the recent and rapid warming of the Earth.

Actual data shows it's not increased solar radiation that's the major cause of global warming on Earth, it's us. Solar radiation is carefully measured. Climatologists include it in their analysis. Did you think they wouldn't do that?

The results are in the report below. Increased solar radiation is 0.12 watts per meter squared. Man's warming is 1.6 watts per meter squared, more than ten times as much.

Perhaps the sun's output is increasing. That is no excuse to continue unfettered greenhouse gas emission; on the contrary, we need to do everything in our power to keep our climate cool.
