What is best lures to use for bowfin(dogfish)?

best lure spinnerbait. chartruse and white for color, slow retrieve is best for they tend to be not too aggressive. shallow muddy banks, canals, and dead wood. warmer weather is better all fish are more active. they will eat anything they can catch. you can also use dead shiners to catch them. ive caught them up to 15 pounds and they have many sharp teeth. your best bet is to be sure to have a pair of pliers and a rag to hold them so they dont slip out of your hand.

The best way to catch dog fish is live bait or cut bait they are basically scavengers and any thing with smell and preferable and fished in slow backwaters will work.as for lures any good power bait scented in shad should work
