A guy that I know was dating a girl who I am now currently involved with. This is upsetting the guy who has lost my respect and is threatening to never talk to her again if she does not see me. Should I back off?

If I understood correctly.....
If he is a friend, he would respect her decision, to not see him anymore, and let her get on with her life. Whether that is with you, or someone else, shouldn't matter to him. So no, why should you back off if you are interested in her, and her in you?

If you like the girl then stay involved with her. But why does he care so much about her being with you? Maybe because they were together, but he shouldnt be controlling her still, or even at all. Its up to how much you really care about her and how goodof friends you are with the guy. You must ask yourself these questions.

well, if the guy is ur friend i would consider backing off, but if he is just a guy u know and are not close with then i would say u could still have the girl. the guy kinda sounds like a jerk, but if he is ur friend then dont ruin ur friendship over a girl. that is totally dumb!! hope this helps u!!!

Why do you or your girlfriend care if he doesn't talk to her anymore. If it was like that here my bf would be like pick me or him, if you really like the girl you wouldn't be asking what to do you would stay beside her.
