Hi
I can only imagine the stress that this has put on you . Have you tried AA meetings , counseling or even talking to your child to find out what is bothering them .
I had a problem child who was 16 at the time now 20 and she was out of control . The problems were seriously affecting me so I put her in Job Corps and it really changed her she did a 360 the year she was there .
Job Corps is a Government assisted program that helps young adults with their GED , a trade , a monthly stipend and they get to do great things . The best part of it all is they do not live home they can come home on the weekends and holidays please look into it .
Take care
C

If he/she is over 18 all you can do is kick them out and watch them fall. Alcoholics have to do it for themselves, that means the rest of us, especially YOU, have to let them hit bottom, the harder the better.
if they are under 18 then put them in an in patient program. Remove all contact with friends and bad influences, this may even mean moving. Do what it takes to get them graduated from school. Once they are 18 it's up to them.

Tough love. Tell him that since he cant make appropriate decisions for himself that you are now in charge till further notice. Contorl everything. Where he goes, when he goes, who he interacts with. Check him into rehab if necessary. If he refuses to get a job do nothing for him around the house. No laundry, no meals, no TV service.

First of all how old is he? Get him to councelling!!! & you as well even he/she doesn't go. Give him/her "tough love" put him/her in a treatment center. Even if the child does all that ...the child has to believe that they have a problem otherwise the help they get won't be of any benefit.
