had an argument with my girlfriend and i messed things up a bit and acted like a bit of a jealous idiot and my g/f wasn't impressed. and now my g/f has taken the attitude of "oh well he's a bit crazy but what can you do, just forget it". this is fair enough as i do get the odd bout of jealousy once in a while (nothing terrible i may add) and i understand.

so why do i feel really resentful and patronised like i'm a little boy who needs to be constantly reassured. she's done nothing wrong and yet i feel a bit wound up and i fully understand its my fault so why can't i change my feelings?????? aaargh!

can anyone suggest any ideas to snap out of it?

i'd just like to point out in my defence that i'm not in any way possessive as a couple of you mentioned, i just had a jealousy attack which doesn't happen to me that often, i just can't seem to shake the consequences this time

What attracted this girl to you, was most likely the fact that you are possessive, some girls find this sweet, shows that you care but beware it may be the reason why she leaves you. To be called crazy when your not, is patronizing, maybe she should of had a better choice of words.

I know what you mean. Go to the doctor and ask for an anti-depressant. I swear it will help after the medicine kicks in after a few weeks and getting the right dosage down under control.

Sounds like you're pretty normal to me. Everybody gets jealous and has moments of irrational behaviour. The thing that sets you apart from masses of others is that you actually recognise these faults. Your girlfriend sounds like she can accept your faults so just keep smiling.......nobody's perfect!

When the argument started you realized she was wrong and you were right, correct? I believe you. She was wrong and you were right. So, the solution? Next time you see her say these words, "Honey, I'm sorry, I'm a no good sob and I'll try to do better next time." It's not a logical solution to guys like us but it works.

Think of this:...The fact that she accepted you as her boyfriend is a reason for you to feel secure ... She must love you enough to enter into such a relationship!...
Being too possesive and jealous will just drive her away... so just relax and enjoy her company!

you said yourself you already realize your the one wrong..i used to be the same way but it's just something you have to understand.. my girlfriend at the time used to come in late at night and i used to trip out wanting to know where she was, why she was getting in so late. it's all about trust. Don't let your friends or even yourself put bad thoughts in your head cause that's where it starts. when she gets home late let her know your happy she is home give her a kiss or something, she might just tell you where she was and what she was doing.

Sit her down and talk to her only thing you can do. Must be a reason why you are feeling like this.
