The best way of weaning is self-weaning where you leave it up to the child.

Depends on how old they are.

If you have breastfed for over a year, the child will begin to enjoy the variety of foods being offered and you will slowly stop offering the opportunity to nurse and just cuddle instead. It is more difficult at a younger age, when there are fewer appropriate substitutes.

At time of feeding substitute with bottled breast milk or whole milk. If they can hold a cup skip the bottle and go straight to a cup. Introduce foods. Need more help, call your Pediatrician.
