Living on the west coast of Canada.. its amazing, annoying, frustrating and aggrevating to see that all across this nation gas prices r different. Im sure that the same thing goes on in the USA. Why all these different prices? Is it true that the gas gets taken out of Alta hauled to eastern Canada, refined and then distributed? If that is the case, why would we have to pay more for the cost of hauling, since its being taken from our next door neighbour province in the first place. Enlighten me please..

LOL those are Canadian dollars per litre prices!

You have to buy 3.8 litres to get a gallon, suddenly prices don't look as good. However a Canadian dollar is worth less than a USA dollar, so that works in your favor.

Anyway America has the same problem, fuel is cheaper on the east coat than the west.

Wow! I wanna move to Canada!
I live in Ohio - and gas here is 2.39 per gallon and probably will go up by the end of the day! Why is gas so much cheaper in Canada?

Some of the cost differential is from how far it is from the refinery, how difficult it is too get it there, how much is used in that area, and how much the residents can bear, California is one of the top users of fuel so our prices are just about the highest, most of the other reasons don't apply here, they know we will use it without regard to cost, so cost is pretty high.

I live in Southern California, near LA, and my gas is currently 3.09 a gallon for 87 Octane.

It is frustrating that one station is 3.09 and another a block down the street is 2.99, and another block down it is 3.25... What gives???

Because they can.
There is a 30 cent (american) difference between gas stations in my city alone.
Frustrating, isn't it!!!
