Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee...inspired by Auntie Mame.

If you're speaking of Auntie Mame, it was written by Patrick Dennis (real name Edward E Tanner III). It was a collection of short stories printed in a magazine, later collected in book form. It is much more rich than THE ONLY movie made based on the book starring Rosalind Russell (we do not recognize the Lucille Ball musical to have ever been made!).
