I think they are a necessary endulgance. Planning a wedding is so unbelievably stressful for both the bride and groom, the period of engagemnet is filled with pleasing each other, pleasing families, arguments about money and seating arrangements etc and it only gets worse as the wedding day gets closer. A honeymoon is a good time for both the bride and groom to come down after such an unbelievable high period of stress and it helps them to reconnect and remember why they wanted to get married in the first place.

I think honeymoons are highly over rated. I did go on a honeymoon after I got married, But we spent more than $3,000.00 while we were there with Hotels and flights etc. We could have done exactly what we did on our honeymoon at home. All we did was lay in bed. But it was fun. Looking back I wish we would have saved our money and stayed at home. My sister didn't go on a honeymoon and says that she does not regret it. If you want to go on a honeymoon, go.

I've been married for almost 4 years now and still have not had a honeymoon. I would really like to take one without having to worry about being able to afford it or not. I think its a great way to connect with your husband or wife and when you take your honeymoon a few years after your wedding then its a great chance to refresh your marriage. I'm hoping that soon we'll be able to plan our wedding.

Honeymoons is a way for newlyweds to get away from everything. It's a way to appreciate one another for a certain period of time. As one person suggested, it doesn't have to be expensive, but, hell, make an effort.

I loved my honeymoon (cruise). It's the best way to unwind after a stressful wedding planning and weekend.

Couples should take a honeymoon trip every year. No kids.....just time for themselves.
