it depends on who is giving the support. A lot of people who claim to 'support' us seem to think that we are doing this because we don't know any better.

How can somebody claim to support me when they are working to make everything I risked my life to do - fail?

I feel that the majority of this country supports our troops I know when I got to come home to see my family It was a moral bust. but when i got back to the city talk about a slap in the face at one time we had protestors at our gates and they through stuff spit I realy wish I could go into detail of the bs we had that day to share with you the stupidity of these people.

I do, sometimes. I have people walk up to me while in uniform and thank me all the time. Every now and then someone will come up to me and tell me I'm doing the worng thing. And the fact that I'm female some people think that I'm getting forced to do things I don't want to do. I joined because I wanted to, not because I was forced to. What matters the most is that my family supports me.

Most of the time I do. I am frequently thanked for what I do. I have had only one person really talk down to me. A woman once stopped me and told me she didn't appreciate "my war". I informed her that it wasn't my war and that I didn't appreciate that she was accusing me of personally starting the entire war in Iraq. She had a total look of surprise because it finally hit her that she couldn't blame the individuals in the armed forces for government policy. I think it was an eye opening experience for her.

My husband spent 8 years in the Marine Corps. He has one of his covers on our dashboard as well as a Marine Corps sticker in the front window & magnet in the rear. Anyways the other day we went to a casino & valet parked, when we were leaving the parking attendant asked who was the Marine - then thanked my husband for his service. I know that makes him feel proud. There are people out there that appreciate our military.

i feel good about myself and i don't place alot of worry on what others think usally if that makes sense. now sometimes someone rubs me the wrong way about how they say something about the military but thats life you know. no matter what people say or think, they can never take away the pride and honor for what i've accomplished away from me. i don't think iraq is a failure, sure its not going like we all wished it was but if it was going to be easy it would just be the way you know? i'm just a simple man, following simple beliefs and only god can truly judge me.

No I never did or have but then again I didn't dowhat I did for appreciation by the people. We expected what we got as it went with the times and the narrowmindedness of the people like Fonda!

we will never really be appreciated totally. Just the way things are. people take our American life for granted, thinking we just live this way because we do. They don't realize we have millions of peoples blood on our own hands. That's how they will probably think for the rest of their life, and probably instill that in their children too. I didn't have any appreciation a couple of years ago, but when i got into high school and joined our JROTC program, my whole aspect on life changed. But i do appreciate y'all and all that you do, and hope i join after i graduate.

So far I have not had any runins with spitters or any attacks on myself. But then again when coming back from Iraq we were told for safety concerns not to were uniforms when we arrived in California
